From Madrid to Heaven! It is one of the most popular sayings about the city. The sky of Madrid has an intense blue colour that makes it characteristic. It is the Spanish capital since 1561 and it is home to important institutions of the State as it is the central government\u2019s headquarters. Moreover, it is the official residence of the Spanish monarchs and some national bodies, such as the Spanish Royal Academy, and of international bodies like the World Tourism Organization.<\/p>\n

The Spanish capital is a cosmopolitan city that combines the most modern infrastructures with its status of economic, financial, administrative and service centre.<\/p>\n

More than 100 museums, almost 200 theatres and countless galleries and showrooms, besides cultural centres, cinemas and various events of national importance shape this high-level cultural program.<\/p>\n

Among this cultural offering, three world\u2019s top art galleries should be highlighted: Prado Museum, Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum and Reina Sof\u00eda Museum, forming what is called The Art Walk.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The airport of Madrid-Barajas Adolfo Suarez is one of the five largest in Europe, it\u00b4s thirteen kilometers away from the Puerta del Sol. In the airport operates the mail international and national airlines.<\/p>\n

The airport is connected to the city by Metro line 8, the Renfe Cercan\u00edas network, numerous buses and taxis.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
